Content policy

Last updated October 25, 2026

Furmous is for fun videos starring your pet. These rules apply to everything you upload or type and to the videos you make and share. They are part of the Terms.

Pet photos

  • Photos of your own pet, or a pet whose owner has agreed.
  • Animals only: no people in the photos.

Your own clips

You may upload a clip only if you have the right to use it. In particular:

  • You made it, or its owner has allowed you to use it, including any music in it.
  • Everyone recognisable in it has agreed. Furmous can replace a person in a clip with your pet; only do that with a clip of yourself or of someone who has said yes.
  • No one in the clip is, or looks like, a child or teenager under 18.
  • No celebrities, politicians or other public figures, and no TV, film, sports broadcast or music video footage you don't have a licence for.

Never allowed

  • Sexual or sexually suggestive content, or nudity.
  • Anything involving minors in a harmful or sexualised way.
  • Graphic violence, gore, animal cruelty, self-harm.
  • Hate, harassment, bullying or threats against a person or group.
  • Deepfakes: videos meant to make people believe something false about a real person, or to impersonate, defame or embarrass them.
  • Misinformation, political or election content, scams, or anything that breaks the law.
  • Trying to get around our safety checks or those of our AI providers.

When you share a video

  • Say it's AI-generated. Turn on the platform's AI label (TikTok, Instagram, YouTube all have one).
  • Don't remove the AI marking from the file or present the video as real footage.
  • Videos made from templates are for personal, non-commercial use and credit the original creator on the Video credits page.

How we enforce it

Uploads and text are checked automatically before you are charged; blocked requests cost nothing. We act on reports from users and rights holders. Breaking these rules can lead to removal of the content and suspension or closure of the account, as described in the Terms. To report content, use Report content.
